We thought very long and hard before including this Israeli war game in our war games collection simply because the conflict in that region causes us much angst. We fully respect the right of Israel to protect its citizens just as any government has a duty to do so, however we remain concerned at the proportionality of harming and killing so many citizens in the Gaza strip and wonder whether any short term advantage may be overshadowed by the radicalisation of those living in Gaza, particularly its children. The creator of this game stated "it’s a satire so it’s supposed to go outside of the comfort zone." For those who question the suitability of this game, remember the millions of war games that have been made and sold across the world regarding the world wars, Vietnam etc. This Israeli war game puts you in the role of an Israeli military commander in Sderot, in charge of responding to Palestinian rocket attacks from nearby Gaza. As Qassam rockets sputter out of Gaza and plummet haphazardly toward Sderot’s general direction, you direct a disproportionate military response, marshalling Israeli tanks, infantry, aircraft and missiles with the goal of making the fight as lopsided as humanly possible.
